Handmade in Santa Fe, NM, these classic linen Christmas stockings are where the warmth of a Victorian Christmas and Scandinavian simplicity meet on a Venn diagram. They would be at home hanging from a mantel in Stockholm, brightening a cozy cabin in Vermont, or holding little packages in a sunny Los Angeles apartment.
My earliest memories of Christmas are filled with images of my family’s handmade holiday decorations sparkling from the mantle or adorning the dining room table, and while I cut back on some of the sequins and glitter for this 21st century update, the spirit of craftsmanship and a love for sewing remains. These classic ivory stockings could be seen as easily in the 1820s as in the 2020s.
ABOUT DMC EMBROIDERY FLOSS
These stockings are hand embroidered with floss made by DMC, a textile company founded in 1746 in Mulhouse, France by Jean-Henri Dollfus. Still made in the city of the company’s birth, DMC embroidery floss has been a staple of craftspeople for generations. Today, DMC maintains the highest environmental standards for production, partly thanks to its own water recycling system. After centuries, the Dollfus family motto is still as true as ever: TENUI FILO MAGNUM TEXITUR OPUS: «From a simple thread, a work of art is born».
ABOUT LINEN
Made from flax, linen is one of the oldest and most sustainable fibers known. It is durable, versatile, and perennial. Fragments of this amazing textile have been found at Swiss lake dwellings dating back to 8,000 BC.

Such a pleasure working with Rebecca who helped me to figure out tab colors that coordinated well. Love how they turned out!!
Stockings turned out fantastic and Rebecca was so great to work with. She shows me some different options for tabs when she noticed I had some repeats & worked with me to come up with something I was happy with. Can’t wait to use them this winter!
